photographer 9: Anna Gaskell

She started with self-portraits and now does works reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland.

Her work is kind of dark. And I kind of like it.

photographer 8: Gary Schneider

His work is... INTERESTING. So weird and so normal at the same time. That doesn't make sense.

Look at his images:

photographer 7: Vincent Laforet

So I'm not an idiot for not recognizing him by name...

born 1975 and began photography at 15.

Runs a must read blog for any and every person dabbling in the photography realm of creativity.

He has done toy camera work, his style is strong whether the images vibrant or not, using celebraties or just everyday people. He did some documentary work of NOLA Katrina. My favorite is the intensity of "Games" and less of the photoshop work.

Photographer 6: Duane Michals

The weirder the better.

I love story lines, I dig his work. Duane Michals uses the use of photo sequence to portray an idea or story. Why limit yourself to one image when you can attack a subject with many?

Photographer 5: Weegee

I picked this artist, because of his name... I'm so glad. So odd and brilliant. His photos are raw and honest.

Weegee (Aurthur Fellig) born in the Ukraine and moved to America 1909.
He chose to nudists, circus performers, freaks and street people to capture.

I find it lovely.

My blurb book is turned in. Makes me want to do this all over town!

Of course at the end of the semester I get loaded with ideas. Just when we won't be allowed to use open lab anymore. wahhhh.

I need help from you kids on how to find an example of this. I hope I can describe it how I'd like...

I've really gotten into yoga, and I'd like to take a series of photos people doing yoga positions in random places in public. I've seen this before with dance. Where, for example, they had a normal grocery store scene and a person in the back ground doing a pirouette or like so as if nothing was out of place.

Anyone know what I mean? If so: Give a dog a bone please.

Photographer 4: Larry Sultan

I focused specifically on his work he did of his parents. They are stunning.

I think that there is something very under appreciated about people and the beauty of aging and of your parents.  I know, especially as I get older and can start to understand not being able to understand (uhh, you follow?) there is an odd connection you seem to acquire towards your parents and also time should be taken to just look at them.

Appreciate every smile line and every tired look. People are so wonderfully fascinating and so ever changing.
I wanted to post this one, too. Because I love butts...

Seriously. Haha :)

Photographer 3: Tina Barney

Tina Barney is another American Photographer that focuses on large scale images of her close friends and family.

The photos are not necessarily staged or natural. A fine line is what she walks.

Photographer 2: Catherine Opie

I have no been very good at posting the people I have been looking at as inspiration for my project and work in general. This is me catching up...

Catherine Opie is an American photographer who has done much work focusing on what effects my everyday life: family.

She says, "Basically what I did then, and I still do now is wander around with my camera to describe my relationship to the world and where I live.”

One work in specifically she did that I truly appreciate is her In and Around Home series. In this series she goes into the homes of families and takes photos of their everyday life... the families with same sex parents.

Although for my individual blurb book I did not quite get what I had anticipated, her work will prove to inspire me to keep trying even after the final is turned in.

I was trying to get used to the scanners. Also, I really dug the watercolors we saw at the sheldon the other day. I've been playing a bit, and copying others.

I don't care who you think you are, this is delightful.
